BABYMAMMA DRAMA? New Book for Dads

I've seen my share of babymamma/babydaddy drama and I don't even have kids. It's amazing to me how ugly it can get. I've seen plenty of men who've walked out of
their children, but let's be real there are mothers who are just as trifling. Women who use their own children as bargaining chips, women who deny their children's
father visitation rights, and women who abuse child support. Ugly.
Attorney/author Alicia Crowe has just released REAL DADS STAND UP!, a 230-page guide for single fathers that offers legal insights about child support, parental
rights, and custody. Crowe, who has represented fathers and mothers in family court cases for more than a decade, says she wrote the book to give single fathers a
greater understanding of their rights under the legal system. During her career she discovered that there are many men who want to play a more active role in their
children's lives, but are denied the opportunity, either by the other parent and/or the legal system."As a result of the way the system is structured, fathers face
an uphill battle just to have minimal contact with their children," Crowe says. "The legal system seems to emphasize child support over a father's right to co-parent
his children." As a result, Crowe, who is a partner in the law firm Crowe & Crowe with her identical twin sister, wrote the book as a way to empower and challenge
fathers to step up to the plate and become active, responsible and nurturing adults in their children's lives.
The book's foreword was written by media/entertainment executive Bill Stephney, best known for his work with Public Enemy and Def Jam. Stephney recently launched
"Meeting the Fatherhood Challenge Symposium" at the Apollo Theater. About Crowe, Stephney said, "Having seen her in action both in the courtroom and in family seminars,
I can, without reservation, say that she may be the foremost legal mind regarding fathers and the legal system within our borders."
Okay Crowe, I wonder if she could take on a few of my male friends' cases. In the meantime, I'll make sure they get a copy of the book ASAP. It is dishearten to
listen to them as they struggle to see their own children for reasons that are many times the result of the mother's selfishness. If you know a father who could use
it, the book is available for sale in bookstores and online. REAL DADS STAND UP was published by Blue Peacock Press as part of an ongoing initiative to empower the
responsible fathers in our community.
I wonder if Bobby Brown is going to purchase a copy.
